The orange, born of fragrant blossom that symbolises eternal love, ripens into a round golden fruit — its luscious juicy segments concealed beneath waxy, dimpled skin. Associated with the sun, the Orange represents vitality, abundance, and good fortune.
Perfume and jewellery share the ability to capture memories – this piece has been created as a tangible object to contain elusive fragrance.
The pomander draws on the Georgian custom of carrying fragrance in gold-smithed "vinaigrettes," its realistic form evoking neroli blossom on a warm breeze.
Naturalistically modelled with hand carved leaves, invisible hinge and hammered orange "skin," the piece began as sketches brought to life by a Royal College of Art-trained wax sculptor. The orange leaf stems create an uninterupted loop for the chain to pass through.

Each micro engineered component is lost wax cast hand-polished and assembled by a single master craftsperson, then bicycled to Hatton Garden for hallmarking — all within a five-mile radius in London — reflecting Ferian's commitment to local artistry of distinction and heritage craft.
