Sterling Silver with 18 carat Gold Vermeil Interior
Elusive and mysterious, a symbol of eroticism, desire and enchantment.
The Hare can be traced to ancient Roman pottery as a symbol of love, vitality and desire. Revered for its dazzling speed, power, and enigmatic nature, the hare has retained its magical status in folklore and continues to captivate.
This charming Leveret (baby hare) started life as a hand drawn sketch before being realised in wax by a Royal College of Art trained miniaturist sculptor, then cast using the ancient lost-wax technique.
The crouching Leveret is modelled naturally, minutely detailed with paw pads, the hare's broad nose and extra long ears (one raised in alert).
The piece combines traditional craftsmanship with functional design - serving both as jewellry and a personal fragrance diffuser.
The chain sits under the collar bone so is visible worn with a shirt or can be layered with longer pendants and chains.
Drawing inspiration from the Georgian era’s fascination with scent and symbolism, the Perfume Levert is perforated in the tradition of the pomander. A scent-infused sponge (or cotton-wool) can rest within the internal cavity, protected by 18-carat gold vermeil to prevent oxidation from perfume oils. This allows your chosen fragrance to gently diffuse throughout the day, leaving a subtle, aromatic trail
Like the hare, scent has a magical quality and can transport us through time and place to recapture precious memories.
