Sterling Silver with 18 carat Gold Vermeil Interior

Noble, graceful, majestic, and free-spirited.

This graceful horse started life as a hand drawn sketch influenced by the famous paintings of 19th Century animal artist George Stubbs, and studies of horses in the Victoria and Albert museum's sculpture gallery.

The drawing was realised in wax by a Royal College of Art trained miniaturist sculptor, then cast using the ancient lost-wax technique.   The horse is  naturally modelled, and posed in 'piaffe' ( a trot in place) where the  horse displays elevated, cadenced steps.  This movement showcases the horse's strength, balance and diciplined training.  Its flowing mane is swept to one side and it is finely detailed with forelocked legs and elegant hooves.

Drawing inspiration from the Georgian era's fascination with scent and animal symbolism, the Perfume Horse is perforated in the tradition of the pomander. A scent-infused sponge (or cotton-wool) rests within the internal cavity, protected by 18-carat gold vermeil to prevent oxidation from perfume oils. This allows your chosen fragrance to gently diffuse throughout the day, leaving a subtle, aromatic trail.

The chain sits at the sternum and  is visible when worn with an open shirt or can be layered with shorter pendants, creatures and chains.
